30 April. Lemons.

We have just put the tree covers over our lemon trees today so that the frosts we have started experiencing will not spoil our crop.

29 April Leaves.

No time to go online yesterday or make a post due to preparing for the new term. These leaves will make fantastic leaf rubbings for my class.

28 April. Bush Walk.

I have just been up the hill for a walk throught the native bush. It was lovely to get back in to the sunshine again.

27 April. Autumn Day

36 April. ANZAC

Along with a large crowd of young and old we attended the local ANZAC service yesterday. My Dad was a returned serviceman and would have been 90 last week. When on my walk early this morning I was disappointed to see how the heavy rain last night has spoilt the wonderful display of wreaths and poppies.

25 April. Rope Swing.

The local children have had great fun on this rope swing over the stream during the school holidays.

24 April Weeping Willows.

23 April. Inside Day

Easter saturday and it is a very rainy day. We won't be venturing out so no opportunities for photos. I am being lazy and posting this photo of the flowers on my dining table.

22 April Grossis Point.

21 April. Water Pump.

Our local council playground has a working water pump feature for the children to interact with. It is a great way for history to not be forgotten.

20 April. Golden Colours.

Although the Autumn temperatures have arrived and there is a slight breeze, it really was beautiful out walking this morning. Long last the school holidays!

18 April. Dessert.

We had a lovely meal with friends last night. My contribution was this dessert , white chocolate mousse over mango puree. I took the photo before I put the garnish of raspberries on. No calorie counting for this one!

It is a rainy day today, the first day of the school holidays. When I looked out the window I couldn't help but notice the dull light has provided so many wonderful relflections in the puddles on the concrete.

15 April. Feijoa Season

Feijoa season is upon us again. We only have two small trees but we are gathering many from the grounds every day. Muffins, apple and feijoa tart, ....?

Today the three classes in our Year 1 syndicate prepared food for a party to end our Social Sciences unit about "Celebrations".

I have noticed so many praying mantis in the gardens at present. This beautiful big one has a large egg sack.

6 April. Baking Day

As part of a Social Studies Unit I am doing with my Year 1 class about Celebrations,we made our own party today. This is the pikelets, jam and cream which we followed up with fruit smoothies.

It rained and was windy last night. Today parts of he playground were covered with a layer of soggy Autumn leaves.
