31 May Camelia

It is becoming increasingly more difficult to find photo opportunities at present. I go to work in the dark and get home after the sun has set. It is only 7.00am and when I was outside this morning I noticed how pretty my new camelias look against the dark sky.

29 May. Natureland

We had our two and a half year old grandaughter across from Wellington this weekend. We had fun at Natureland feeding the animals.

Every child desertves to know the work they do for their teacher is valued.

It is raining and the streams are filling up.

22 May Days Gone past.

I smiled when I saw this phone. We had one just like it on the kitchen wall of our farm house when I was alittle girl.

21 May. Yellow and Blue.

It's a beautiful day here and the autumn colours are standing out well against the blue sky.

20 May. Book Character Day.

My wonderful Year 1 class had such fun dressed as book characters when our school celebrated the end of Book Week today. I had a very warm day as well dressed in my Tigger costume.

19 May. Red Sky.

I looked out my window this morning and saw this red sky. The saying goes...Red sky at night a shepherd's delight, red sky in the morning, a shepherd's warning. I wonder what sort of day we are in for today?

18 May. Snowy Mountain Tops

We had an ICT Lead teacher Meeting today. When we were sitting outside enjoying the sunshine at lunch time we could feel the cool air coming fromthe distant mountains with their light coating of snow.

15 May. Old House

This old disused farm house is just a few minutes walk from the main street of our town of Richmond.

13-14 May. Saturday Morning

Blogger was not available yesterday so I did not bother taking a photo to post. This morning we opened the curtains to a beautiful sunny morning after heavy rain last night. It was good motivation for me to get going on my Saturday morning walk. Everything is so green and fresh and the fungi are sprouting up evrywhere.

12 May. Holly Berries

My holly bush is starting to display it's berries.

Today a group of the 5 year olds in my class went out side to make illustrations about their reading book with chalk on the concrete.

10 May. Giraffe

Our school is currently celebrating "Book Week". Today one of our staff dressed as Gerald from "Giraffes Can't Dance". Oh dear, Friday week I have to decide what book character costume I will wear!

7-9 May. Auckland Trip.

We have just returned from a very busy and enjoyable weekend trip to Auckland to visit our son who lives there, celebrate his birthday which falls this week and also Mothers Day. Although the weather was perfect I didn't take very many photos. The first is at the vineyard where we had lunch on Saturday, up the coast near Matakana. The second is a very early morning shot out the window of our apartment in the city and the third is a beach on Waiheke Island. The day out, plus a bus tour around the island was my Mother's day gift.

5 May. Autumn Fun

The weather was not great today, but we did take advantage of a little walk outside to look at the leaves. This is the resulting followup activity.

3 May Term 2 Has Begun.

When reading Allanah's blog posting about her beautiful sampler( 120 / 365 ) it reminded me to hunt out a piece I completed a few years ago when priorities were different and life ran at a less rapid pace.
