22 June. Memories.

When I saw this sign today I smiled. My late parents had a wooden "tuit" on the wall. It is really hand for those jobs you say you will do when you "get around to it!"

21 June. Bulbs.

This mild winter weather appears to be fooling the spring bulbs.

19 June. Fungi

This fungi growing on a tree stump in our local park is enjoying current weather conditions.

18 June. Mural Again

On March 12 I posted a photo of a mural being painted on a wall in our town. I walked past this morning in the rain and I noticed it was finished. It really does look wonderful.

Colour like this in the gardens helps to brighten up a chilly day.

16 June. Lunar Eclipse

This photo is hard to see I know but I just had to try and grab it as I drove out of my garage this morning. It is a lunar eclipse in the western sky. I am looking forward to seeing who has posted a much better picture of it.

15 June. Trophy

Just looking at one of our son's early trophies in one of his chosen sports. He has come a long way and we are very proud of his national achievement into the Blacksox.

The fog is laying low over the inlet today. This was taken on my early morning walk.

8 June Little Messages

I was only away from my classroom for the afternoon yesterday to do some PD with Allanah, but when I arrived back these were the first of many little messages I found in various places. Five year olds are very rewarding!

A tea party with a pre-schooler is great fun when it is too cold and wet to play outside.

Today is drizzly and damp and it certainly does nothing to promote Nelson's "sunny" reputation.

1 June School Cross Country

Yesterday we had our school cross country races at Rabbit Island (less than 15 minutes drive away). We took our 400 children there by bus, had the races, a lovely picnic combined with BBQ sausages and then everyone played a variety of games and made sand sculptures on the beach. It was a very enjoyable day for all.
