26 January. Butterfly Garden
Hidden away behind one of the classrooms our school caretaker has made a garden to attract butterflies for the children to enjoy. At present the swan plants have many monach butterfly caterpillars busily munching and several crysalis ready to hatch.
This is such a great year for butterflies. When we take the dogs for a walk in the local reserve they disturb "batches" of butterflies from the grass. It is such a pleasure to see how well the small wild life is doing now that the drought seems to be over.
